Even though it has been tagged as a low-budget handset, Nokia 2690 is one of those phones that seem to be subsidized for what they have to offer. Boasting lots of features that are usually included in medium ranged mobile phones, Nokia 2690 is also looking very nice.
Launched only one month after Nokia 2220 slide, the 2690 model comes on the same emerging markets… (read more)

Here are 52 photos of 52 motorcycle garages.
These are small, or enormous, super clean, or super dirty, empty or crowed garages, but they all have at least one motorcycle in them (apart from the first, which is Jay Leno’s garage).
Enjoy.

Poor qualifying left Alonso mired in the midfield
Ferrari have promised a significant upgrade package for the European Grand Prix after a dismal showing in their 800th Grand Prix.
What has happened to the team that started the year with a one-two?

Felipe Massa
Beat Alonso in qualifying for the first time since Bahrain – a badly-needed result.
Couldn’t make any further progress on race day, gaining one position thanks to Sebastian Vettel’s retirement. He declared his frustration afterwards:
It was a very boring race for me, from start to finish, but it was also very difficult. I was always stuck behind Kubica and the two Mercedes, who were running at a similar pace to me. Very often I managed to get close, but I never had a real chance of overtaking Robert. I knew that, starting from eighth, it would be tough and so it proved.

Fernando Alonso
Admitted he couldn’t have done better after being dumped out of qualifying in Q2. In a closely-fought session Alonso was slower than his team mate by four tenths of a second.
He started 12th and was sill there at the end of lap one, but his pit stop got him ahead of Kamui Kobayashi and Adrian Sutil.
Spent 36 laps battling Vitaly Petrov, finally getting alongside and banging wheels with the Renault driver to take eighth behind Massa.
At the end, I attacked Petrov and I hope the two points this brought me could turn out to be useful come the end of the year: I am sorry he got a puncture that stopped him finishing in the points, because he drove a good race. Despite everything, we are still in a good position to fight for the title. However, now is the time to react.
Fernando Alonso
Photographs of the damage to his wheel afterwards showed Alonso had been fortunate to make it to the end of the race.

Michael Schumacher
Looking more like his old self with every passing race. Schumacher out-qualified Rosberg despite spinning off on his final lap.
Took advantage of starting on the clean side of the track to pass Jenson Button at turn one, but lost the position on the run down to turn 12 later on in the lap.
Held position at the pit stops and pulled away from Rosberg at the beginning of the second stint. Rosberg caught him in later in the stint but wasn’t able to get close enough to pass.

Nico Rosberg
Out-qualified by Schumacher for only the second time this year by a narrow margin of less than a tenth of a second.
Running behind Schumacher at the start of the race with Robert Kubica and Felipe Massa close behind, Mercedes faced a challenge to pit both their drivers without losing track position.
Schumacher, leading, had the advantage of pitting first which left Rosberg vulnerable. But his crew performed the quickest pit stop of the race and got him back out ahead of Kubica.

Rubens Barrichello
Barrichello blamed his poor start on a clutch problem – not unlike what happened to him at the track last year:
I had a problem with the clutch at the start which is a shame because it’s been fine all weekend so we will have to investigate that. We pitted earlier than we had originally planned because our pace was better than the cars in front. Our stop was quite slow because we had a problem with the front wheel. Later on, I then had an issue with the throttle. Our overall race pace wasn’t too bad but we need to resolve these issues that we are having.
Rubens Barrichello
Illustrating the depth of Williams’ problems, Barrichello was the last car on the road that wasn’t one of the new teams or had been involved in a first-lap crash.

Nico Hülkenberg
Collided with another driver – Sebastien Buemi – on the first lap for the second race in a row.
That left him enduring a lonely race until Buemi caught him late in the race, finally passing the Williams four laps from home.

A potential double points finish was lost when Vitaly Petrov collided with Fernando Alonso late in the race.
But the team showed good pace and Robert Kubica beat both the Ferraris.

Robert Kubica
A solid but unspectacular race in which he tried but couldn’t find a way past the Mercedes drivers:
I knew we had a chance to get ahead of them during the pit stops and I had a very good out lap, but their pit stops must have been a bit quicker and so we couldn’t jump ahead.
Robert Kubica

Vitaly Petrov
Had his best qualifying performance of the year so far, getting within half a second of his team mate.
Came under huge pressure from Fernando Alonso, spending much of the race with the Ferrari less than a second behind.
He finally succumbed with six laps to go and the contact caused a puncture. That dropped him out of the points but the late tyre change allowed him to set the fastest lap of the race.

Adrian Sutil
Crashed heavily at turn eight in first practice, and did only a single lap in final practice after technical problems.
Despite that, and not running the team’s new F-duct (which it calls the SRW), Sutil comfortably beat Liuzzi in qualifying, though he wasn’t able to reach Q3.
Any hopes of keeping Fernando Alonso behind were dashed by a slow pit stop, costing him as much as four seconds and allowing the Ferrari driver by along with Kamui Kobayashi.
Sutil had already passed Kobayashi earlier in the race and he did it for a second time on lap 50. Vitaly Petrov’s late pit stop promoted him to eighth,

Vitantonio Liuzzi
Opted to run the F-duct in qualifying having found it beneficial in practice. But he was a second slower than Adrian Sutil in Q1 and failed to reach Q2.
Made a good start to get ahead of the Williamses but never looked like mixing it with the cars in front. Fell so far behind Jaime Alguersuari the latter was able to gamble on a second pit stop without losing track position to him.

Two-stopping Alguersuari put the Saubers under pressure
Unusually, both Toro Rosso drivers made two pits stops during the Turkish Grand Prix.
The gamble almost allowed Jaime Alguersuari to capitalise on the struggling Saubers to claim the final point of the race.

Sebastien Buemi
Not for the first time in 2010, Buemi’s race was compromised by a first-lap collision, this time with Nico Hülkenberg.
He had out-qualified his team mate for the sixth time this year but his first-lap pit stop ruined his race:
The start was good, but then De La Rosa made a poor exit to Turn 2 so going into Turn 3 I tried to go round him on the outside. But I went a bit wide and when I came back onto the track, Hulkenberg got past me and as I tried to retake him at Turn 7 on the outside, I think he might have lost the front end of the car and he clipped my right rear, which punctured the tyre and I had to pit immediately.
Sebastien Buemi

Jaime Alguersuari
Benefited from his team mate’s demise to move up to 14th at the start. Built up enough of a gap over Vitantonio Liuzzi to have the space to make a second pit stop without losing track position.
He took it on lap 42 and began to catch the Saubers. That progress was accelerated when Kamui Kobayashi began to struggle with his tyres, backing up Pedro de la Rosa.
Over the final five laps the gap was 8.7 seconds, then 7.2, 3.8, 1.4 and 1.8. With a lap or two more he might have made it past – or at least pressured the Sauber duo into a Red Bull-style gaffe.
Alguersuari thought it was a gamble worth taking:
The decision to make two stops for tyres was the correct one, so that I could attack de la Rosa and Kobayashi at the end. Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite do it in the number of laps remaining, but this has been an encouraging weekend and I really hope we can again push in Canada, getting back to scoring points again.
Jaime Alguersuari
It’s a pity we don’t see more variation in strategy like this which can produce exciting racing. The only reason Toro Rosso felt able to try it here was because Alguersuari could make his pit stop without falling behind Liuzzi.
It’s very unlikely a team would choose to take an extra pit stop and surrender track position – remember how badly that worked out for Lewis Hamilton in Australia.

Jarno Trulli
Took ‘new team pole’ once again, 1.3 seconds behind Vitantonio Liuzzi’s Force India.
Started the race on the hard compounds tyre but we never got to see how his strategy would have played out as he retired with hydraulic failure.

Heikki Kovalainen
Started on the soft tyres and passed his team mate on lap 13, but hydraulic failure ended his race as well:
I lost power steering in turn eight and it looks like it was a hydraulics failure. At first I thought I had a puncture as the steering suddenly felt really strange, but then I lost the gearbox, the clutch, and throttle. It’s so unfortunate as this was our strongest race so far.
